West Ham at Fulham

We lost 3-1 . I think we lost 3-1 last time I watched West Ham play there. Oh well, keep            on trucking.

Burns Night

My local Burns night. This is Jock, he pretty much puts together the local Burns night which raises money for various local charities. I've got an edit of pics to go through although they might end up becoming part of my exhibition for this years E17 Art Trail.
So, for the time being I'll leave you in Jock's capable hands whilst you get to ponder on just what's going on behind the entrance door.

New lens test.

I bought a new (well new to me)  lens and took a few test shots early this morning.  Yep, it seemed as if I was being watched.

Left handed Ukulele

I'm left-handed and I find it easier to strum with my left-hand whilst using my right-hand for picking chords. Instead of learning to play chords up side down I decided to re-string my uke with the chords now being upside down. This works like a mirror effect when compared to right-hand players. Reading chords can sometimes feel back to front, well they do for me anyway. I find sometimes that it's useful when reading from threat board chord sheets to mark T for top and B for bottom, this will stop you from playing an upside down G chord and once you get used to reading chords this way then its plain sailing.

Rivers can be very sinister places

Original image was taken onset from Alfred Hitchcock's film, Frenzy. This is a follow up shot from my Alfie re-visited still.  Going by Wikipedia. Michael Caine Turned down the
role of Rusk, the antagonist, saying that the character was too disgusting to be associated with. Having seen the film I can't really blame him. However, it does connect these 2 Londoners to the Thames.

Jessops we mourn

Sad to hear the news about the high street store Jessops, going into administration. Love them or hate them they were always good for an own branded gizmo, you knew where you stood with a Jessops light metre. I guess they also catered for Mums looking for a decent compact too. Going by the BBC website up to 2000 jobs could be lost. That’s 2000 photography lovers including  photography and art students all now mostly destined for the arts-hole slag heap...
To you and I,  look at it as 2000 photography interest mags no longer being bought and 2000 art students no longer deciding to choose the Blow-Up photographic dream. Will these stocks ever be replenished and where will the digital photographic revolution be taken us next?  Pop that into your college essay.

Ceci n'est pas une pipe

Boring DIY update: After removing the old bathroom tiles I found that the wall began to resemble a piece of art work.  Not too sure if it's more Rothco or Klimt.

Pipes and Portraits

These are part of my Stow Caledonian Pipe Band project that I'm working on. I took these on Remembrance Sunday. There's more shots from the project here
