Part three of my adventures in Thanet Earth: Margate
It felt like the ghosts of the kiss-me-quick hats had packed off to sunny Spain and the Martin Parr humour seems to have got washed out to sea. However, there's now a hip Turner Contemporary gallery plumped by the sea, so I guess the place has moved on too.

This is Charles Dickens country. The character David Copperfield was conjured up from here. Another Dickens haunt was the Royal Albion Hotel. Not to sure how things worked in his day but I popped in there for afternoon tea and was pushed aside in the queue by a bunch of cappuccino quaffing biddys. How times have changed.

Spent the weekend in the land formerly known as the Isle of Thanet. Took on Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate. I also managed to drive past (and sadly not snap) a sign reading 'Thanet Earth'. So he we go, part one of three posts from Thanet Earth.
