Had a few beers last Saturday, for the Ace of Jase's birthday. Location: The Fitzroy Tavern, Charlotte street. I like the fact that Dylan Thomas, George Melly and Francis Bacon would have got royaly drunk in this place. What else was there to do, in a post blitz London?

A country and bluegrass music festival, happening at the end of my road, you say?
Well, this has to be seen.
I watched some folky bands play, whilst surrounded by some colourful looking characters, Sunday just gone. This all took place at the Leytonestone festival, with thanks to What's Cookin'. There now seems to be a bit of an underground folk scene going on at the end of my road? One of the bands lead singer( the chap that looks like Sam Elliott, from the Big Lebowski), used to be in the Kursal flyers. Apparently the Real Putland photographed them.
Can you spot the Hunter s Thompson, look a like.

met up with the old school fellow Heave moshers Cormac, Simon and James to see Neil Young on Sunday. It was not a day for wearing shorts, I'm hear to tell you that. But anyway, Neil saved the day and finished off with a cover of the Beatles, A Day In The Life.
I think I'm done now for big gigs. Although, I think there is a country music festival kicking off in Leytonstone, this weekend. I'm intrigued...

I grew up with the Beach Boys, 20 golden surfing hits album. As a kid I thought it was contemporary music. So it was great to see Brian Wilson at the Royal Albert Hall the other day, Even though he is a little bit mad - part of the charm I guess.
